I first happened upon Bread Bar on Instagram(isn’t that how we discover most things these days?). While I scrolled through pictures, I was intrigued. In the small mining town of Silver Plume is a turn of the century old bake shop turned cocktail bar, Bread Bar. They had limited hours—only being open on weekends so I timed my visit after photographing a short ceremony at Sapphire Point in Breckenridge.
Bread Bar is located on a dirt road off Main Street. It’s definitely something you wouldn’t think the sleepy time of Silver Plume would have but there it was. The tiny building is over a hundred years old and it housed such charming and eclectic decor. From the original doors to its hardwood floors, it was a place I easily fell in love with. I ordered a couple of cocktails and listened to some live music on their back patio. It was so soothing and a great way to spend my afternoon.
I reached out to Victoria from Happy Lamb Weddings and sent her a link to Bread Bar’s Instagram page. I believe my words were, “Maybe a styled shoot? Thoughts?”. She immediately replied with a “Yes!” and the planning began. Victoria gathered inspiration from jewel tones, the intricate pattern of the bridal dress and the design of the floral bouquet. The weather was cloudy with slight rain but only added to the romantic and moody shoot we put together. None of this would have been possible without the amazing vendors and of course, the couple Christa and Justin who are married themselves. The bread bar is undoubtedly one of the most unique love stories I've heard in recent times. The cutlery selection by the wedding planner is exquisite, with an authentic touch of antiquity and a rustic look. Having a smaller wedding myself, I can really appreciate the cozy vibes from this wedding. I love the setting of it being in a bread bar. Everything just looks vibrant and rustic but not outdated.
