A Modern Love Story
Where did it all start for Pat and Cori? Well, true to the times that run, they met online. Cori was ready to give dating a good shot and she was living in Indiana at the time, so she set her distance no more than 5 miles away.
As fate would have it, she would connect with Pat, who lived only an hour away. Cori remembers how she felt there was something about Pat right away, but kept it mostly to herself so as not to jinx it. Well, she was right!
First Date Connection
First dates are very important, whether we want to admit it or not. For Pat and Cori, it happened at a Belgian Brasserie where they talked for an hour and a half. They went on a little walk by the Butler University area and found there were a bunch of students bar hopping in footy pajamas.
It gave their date a bizarre quality, but it’s little things like this that really add to a good first-date story. They eventually sat on the side of a canal where they continued talking and laughing. If you’ve been on first dates, you know how rare it is to connect like this.
The Marriage Proposal
One thing about Cori, she loves kayaking and often does it with her dog, Salem. So, one morning, she and Pat were heading out to the creek for a little kayaking adventure. As it’s often the case for women, Cori’s intuition was going off.
They set out on their kayak trip and they got to this lovely little island of sand and rocks. A few other people were there, but when they left, that’s when Pat called her over and got down on one knee. With nature and Salem as their witnesses, they became engaged. A perfect marriage proposal for a privacy-loving couple!
The Wedding Day
Fast-forward to their wedding day, a true reflection of the love they have for each other. I was honored to capture Pat and Cori’s union at Silverthorne Pavilion, which offers the most beautiful spaces. The outdoor ceremony site was right up Pat and Cori’s alley, and it made for stunning shots at the riverside, surrounded by pine trees. Congratulations you two!
